Was out and about the other day. Ran across a lady in her front yard with this bird. I asked her if I could “capture the birds image”. She said yes. I asked her if the bird was tied up or if the birds wings were clipped? She said no. That the bird is a family member and will not fly away. So how cool is that? Just thought you may enjoy seeing this beautiful bird.

Just checking into Rogers Park in 1,000 Words after my visit to Sam Leone Beach with Rock N Roll, The Lighthouse BBQ, and making sure that Quest is secure while closed for the Holiday.
Off to dinner then my 8pm bonfire at Sherwin on the Lake.

This is 48 more with within just under 9 hours.
With an average increase of 100 a day, I would expect to hit the 300,000 milestone by late Tuesday.
Putting it into perspective:
While 300,000 is a great milestone for Rogers Park in 1,000 Words, The ‘Broken Heart’ of Rogers Park has recently surpassed 3,000,000.

Will Rogers Park in 1,000 Words hit 300,000 on Labor Day?
It is possible. Tune in often to find out!

I’ve been hearing sirens all night long racing down Sheridan Road.
I’ve checked Craig’s blog, The ‘Broken Heart’ of Rogers Park.
I’ve checked:
24/7 North of Howard watchers
The RP & Beyond
Outside.In
RogersPark.com
Fargo Observer
North Howard Neighbors Association
Network 2424
The Rogers Park Inconsistent
Estes Dude
Engage Community Newsletter
Al Iverson & Al Iverson’s Bacon Rodeo
Action: The University in the Community
RP Moto Chick
and even the lowly alderman’s blog.
So, what were these sirens all about?
UPDATE:
Craig delivers with a link to the Chicago Sun-Time article on his blog, The ‘Broken Heart’ of Rogers Park.
Thank you Craig!

We spoke about how the business started, how 16 years in business has been and the current situation that the business is facing. The Armadillo’s Pillow is trying to raise funds to stay in business.
Many have told me over the past ten years, that they have passed by but never stopped into the store. Others have told me that they visited the store and thought that it was wonderful experience but never bought anything.
I am encouraging my readers to go out of their way to stop into The Armadillo’s Pillow and make a purchase to save this local small business.
I will also be posting new photos every day of the books, handmade jewelery, art, and even Rogers Park roasted bags of coffee…
Save the Pillow!
